Wellness and Prevention

Maxem Health Urgent Care offers multiple different exams and wellness services. From sports and school physicals to pre-employment exams, we can give you the peace of mind for whatever endeavor you are about to embark upon.

Sports/School Physicals

A sports physical is a check-up to assess a teen's health and fitness as it relates to a sport. During the sports physical, the health care provider looks for any diseases or injuries that could make it unsafe to participate in sports by reviewing the family's medical history to ensure additional tests are performed if necessary.

With no appointment necessary, Maxem Health Urgent Care offers convenient and affordable sports, school or camp physicals for your children.

Drug Screens

A drug screen (also called a drug test) is the collection and analysis of blood, urine, hair, or saliva to detect the presence of the chemicals and contaminants left behind in the body due to drug use. A drug screen may also be used to detect performance-enhancing drugs sometimes used by professional athletes such as steroids and HGH. Many different types of drug screens exist for multiple purposes. Below is a list of common types of drug screens.

  • Urine Drug Screen
  • Saliva Drug Screen
  • Blood Drug Screen
  • Hair Testing

DOT Exams and Screening

The DOT physical exam is a necessary test for any individual hoping to get behind the wheel of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). This examination makes sure that all commercial drivers are up to par in their daily health examinations and are at peak performance. It ensures that you or other CMV drivers are physically able to handle the long hours and stress of operating a commercial vehicle.

Healthy You Wellness Exams

A wellness exam is a type of preventative care. Preventative healthcare focuses on maintaining wellness and stopping health problems before they occur. Instead of waiting until you have a health issue, you visit your physician to make sure that you’re still in good health, or to catch health problems in early stages.

Wellness visits or wellness exams  are typically annual, and are separate from other medical visits related to illness or injury.

Company Exams

A company may require a medical exam to determine eligibility for insurance or if you are injuried while on the job. The company exam is a medical exam undertaken to determine your medical well-being for either of these purposes.

Pre-Employment Exams

The pre-employment medical examination is part of the employment process and may include a drug test and/or a physical examination. This is ordinarily the last thing a person must have before starting a new job.
